Australia fires disaster death toll to hit 230

The destruction covers over 20 towns north of Melbourne. Some victims are burnt beyond recognition and may never be identified, It is Australia's worst natural disaster in 110 years.

Rain fuels flash floods across north Qld

Heavy rain continues to fall causing more flash flooding and damage in north Queensland.
The rain has eased in Ingham but the floodwaters remain high as the monsoon trough moves south.



Bondi shark victim's hand 'hanging by piece of skin'

At 7:30pm yesterday, Bondi Beach became the site of Sydney's second shark attack in two days, when a 33-year-old surfer was mauled at the beach's southern end.

Shark attack in Woolloomooloo

A navy diver has been seriously injured after he was bitten by a shark at Woolloomooloo this morning.
Paramedics said they went to Woolloomooloo Bay about 6.50am after someone reported a man had been bitten by a shark.
